The Field Telephone: Reliable Communication in the Field
In an age where radio networks are increasingly vulnerable to jamming and eavesdropping—evidenced by recent events in Ukraine—the importance of wired communication is once again in the spotlight. Intec and Solifos’ digital field communication system offers a solution to this problem. The system enables interference-free and secure connections between command posts or operational units, even under challenging conditions and over long distances.
Highly Specialized Fiber Optic Cables from Solifos
Solifos’ powerful fiber optic cables play a critical role in this communication system. Easy Deployment and Flexible Use
Another highlight of Solifos’ fiber optic cables is their ease of deployment. Available either on a practical spool or in a special backpack deployment system, these cables can be quickly and easily laid over long distances by field personnel. The DFK system can cover up to 30 kilometers with a transmission rate of over 1 GBit when connecting two terminals. This ensures reliable communication, even over greater distances.
Looking Ahead
Solifos and Intec are continuously working to further improve the DFK system and tailor it to the specific requirements of modern operational forces. The system is set to be introduced to the German Bundeswehr, with further optimizations planned to ensure the highest level of security and efficiency in field communications.
